Sixteen-year-old Mary Shelley Black watches as desperate mourners flock to séances and spirit photographers for comfort, but she herself has never believed in ghosts. During her bleakest moment, however, she’s forced to rethink her entire way of looking at life and death, for her first love—a boy who died in battle—returns in spirit form. Gideon Cross came into my life like lightning in the darkness…
He was beautiful and brilliant, jagged and white-hot. I was drawn to him as I’d never been to anything or anyone in my life. I craved his touch like a drug, even knowing it would weaken me. I was flawed and damaged, and he opened those cracks in me so easily…
Gideon knew. He had demons of his own. And we would become the mirrors that reflected each other’s most private wounds…and desires. The bonds of his love transformed me, even as I prayed that the torment of our pasts didn't tear us apart...

Renegade Angels Series
Adrian Mitchell is a powerful angel leading an elite Special Ops unit of Seraphim. His task is to punish the Fallen-angels who have become vampires-and command a restless pack of indentured lycans. But Adrian has suffered his own punishment for becoming involved with mortals- losing the woman he loves again and again. Now, after nearly two hundred years, he has found her-Shadoe-her soul once more inhabiting a new body, with no memory of him. And this time, he won't let her go.
Since his debut in 1951 as The Catcher in the Rye, Holden Caulfield has been synonymous with "cynical adolescent." Holden narrates the story of a couple of days in his sixteen-year-old life, just after he's been expelled from prep school, in a slang that sounds edgy even today and keeps this novel on banned book lists.
His constant wry observations about what he encounters, from teachers to phonies (the two of course are not mutually exclusive) capture the essence of the eternal teenage experience of alienation.

The Grimm Diaries are pages written in a Book of Sand, where each fairy tale character confessed the true stories once altered by the Brothers Grimm two centuries ago. To keep the truth about fairy tales hidden, the Brothers Grimm buried the characters in their dreams to never wake up again. But the curse was broken and they allowed to wake up every one hundred years
Two years later, he was back. Walking into a deal I'd worked hard to close. Under the tutelage of Lei Yeung, one of the sharpest businesswomen in New York, I had picked up a thing or two since Jax walked away. I wasn't the girl he once knew, but he hadn't changed. Unlike the last time we'd drifted into each other's lives, I knew exactly what I was dealing with... and how addictive his touch could be.
The inner circle of glamour, sex, and privilege was Jax's playground--but this time, I knew the rules of the game. In the cutthroat business world, one adage rules all: keep your enemies close and your ex-lovers closer..
Kurt Vonnegut's absurdest classic Slaughterhouse-Five introduces us to Billy Pilgrim, a man who becomes unstuck in time after he is abducted by aliens from the planet Tralfamadore. In a plot-scrambling display of virtuosity, we follow Pilgrim simultaneously through all phases of his life, concentrating on his (and Vonnegut's) shattering experience as an American prisoner of war who witnesses the firebombing of Dresden.
Zeus created Pandora with the intentions of sending her to Earth to punish mankind with two gifts: her own curiosity and a gold box. The box held the five Furies: Plagues, Natural Disaster, Hatred, Jealousy, and the worst Fury, Annihilation. But before she was sent, Hades, God of the Underworld placed a key only Pandora and her female descendants could use to lock the box if it were ever opened. However, if Pandora or any of her descendants were killed while wearing the key, anyone could take it from around her neck and open the box.
So she was sent to Earth and indeed open the box, but when she realized what it actually contained she slammed the lid and locked it before the fifth Fury was released. An enraged Zeus cursed Pandora and her lineage: they would all die violent deaths in the prime of their lives.
Zeus assumed Pandora's lineage would die out within one or two generations, but what he never expected was a group of females to protect Pandora's family and the box. Thousands of years have now passed and mankind no longer believes in the Greek Gods, let alone remembers the truth to Pandora's story. The forgotten Gods' powers waned and all but faded from the universe. But a forgotten God is a vengeful God, and such a God will commit heinous crimes to regain their power and display their wrath. Now Evangeline, the last remaining descendant, must come to grips with her true identity and decide if she has the will and strength to save mankind.
